Using the latest optical equipment, our optometrists are able to see the inner workings of your eye, which assists in the diagnosis and treatment of more serious eye conditions. See our range of specialised tests below. Combine them with a Classic Care examination and take advantage of some significant savings.
This is the very best way of ensuring that the parts of your eye we can’t normally see are healthy. Using a stereo bio-microscope it gives us a gold standard view of your retinal health and an analysis of your optic nerve for glaucoma. Definitely recommended if you are at risk of glaucoma, have moderate or high short sightedness, or simply want to be sure of the health of your retina. We prefer to dilate your pupils in order to give you the best health screening.
A picture is worth a thousand words in documenting and monitoring your eye health. Using High Definition Canon EOS technology and a 42 inch screen, our image suite includes Front of eye and Back of eye capability.
High Definition 3D Laser Scanning
At the cutting edge of primary eyecare, and widely used in specialist ophthalmology, up until now this technology has been out of reach of the average person concerned about monitoring their eye health.
Using Zeiss Cirrus HD-OCT technology to measure and model your eyes microstructure we can evaluate and track changes so small that they go unnoticed by any other conventional techniques. High Definition 3D Laser Scanning is recommended in the investigation of glaucoma, age related macular degeneration (AMD), distorted vision and many other eye conditions.
The Zeiss Cirrus HD-OCT has the versatility to image both the front (AS-OCT) and the back of your eye.
Neurological Visual Fields
This test traces the neural pathways all the way from your retina to your brain, allowing us to check for normal function. Using Zeiss Humphrey Field Analyser (HFA) technology we can accurately assess your peripheral vision, which is vital in testing your neurological ocular health. An important test if you suffer migraines, have had a head injury, have glaucoma, unexplained visual difficulty as well as many other conditions. Also very useful as a baseline procedure at your first Classic Care test.
A very quick procedure using miniaturized ultrasound technology to accurately measure the thickness of your cornea. This information is important in the investigation of your eye health for glaucoma, age-related corneal disease, distorted vision, and for providing eyecare after laser surgery or eye injury.
A state of the art laser measurement of your corneal thickness, very much like Ultrasound Pachymetry but used in situations where we need to accurately measure a particular location. This is useful in assessing corneal thickness in Keratoconus and advanced contact lens fitting.
This test allows us to analyse the shape of your eyes optical surface – critical in the fitting of complex contact lens designs and monitoring the effects of long term contact lens wear. Using Placido Ring technology and state of the art graphical analysis it is also invaluable in the investigation of unexplained corneal distortions, eye injuries and ocular surface lesions.
