Our frame selection is one of the largest in the Wellington region. We get new stock in daily. Come in and let our friendly qualified dispensing opticians and optical assistants assist you in finding a frame that best complements you. They can advise you on what’s the most appropriate choice of frame, style and design. If you need any repairs or adjustments done on your glasses our team is fully equipped to repair most frame types. Both our practices provide these services along with cleaning and maintenance of your glasses. All our frames have a two year warranty against manufacturing faults.
The first step in getting clear and comfortable vision
Is to book an eye test. Most of our appointments are 40 minutes long to make sure you get the most thorough eye test. Our optometrists are also comfortable testing children of all ages.
We specialise in fitting contact lenses. Our optometrists can fit and maintain all types of contact lenses. This includes hard contact lenses for keratoconus and abnormal corneas. We also provide subsidised contact lens fittings for patients who fall under the Ministry of Health subsidy.
If you are a diabetic you could qualify for a free diabetic retinal screening. We are proud to work with the capital coast health board to provide the diabetic photo screening to the Lower Hutt and Johnsonville community. We are only a short drive from Wellington and Upper Hutt. Contact your doctor to refer you should you need to access this service.
Our optometrists are qualified to test your eyes and prescribe eye-drops when your eyes are sore or red. They will also refer you to a specialist if it is necessary. Glaucoma and other eye diseases are screened for during our eye tests. If you are concerned about any sudden changes in your vision please contact one of our practices and mention this when you book an appointment.
Because your eyesight is your most vital sense, if you require an eye test, the best vision or looking for new glasses, we can help you. Contact our Wellington practices in Lower Hutt Black Gates Meek and Dong and Calver Optometrists in Johnsonville to book an appointment.
